There are films out there making us believe everything was great. Heading towards a happy end is just as easy as making breakfast.
Well, sometimes it is not and you have to dig deep in order to keep going. Two films (nevertheless one is providing some sort of happy end) cover this: Margin Call and Company Men.
In Margin Call two brainiacs discover that the bank’s equity (even market capitalization) would not be enough to cover the risks so an avalanche is broken loose. In Company Men Ben Affleck’s character has to experience what it is like to get fired and not being able to find a new job as easy as he thought it would be.
Both films are worth watching on a sunday evening and help looking behind the curtain of today’s economy.
